Recitation Hall

Recitation Hall will be the first building that you visit when you arrive at Wittenberg, as it houses the admission and financial aid offices.

Map to Wittenberg's Weaver ChapelLocated on West Campus Drive and cutting through the oldest and some of the most beautiful parts of the campus, Recitation Hall stands as one of the primary symbols of the university. Affectionately nicknamed "Reci" by students and faculty alike, it was the second building constructed on campus in 1883. The monolithic building housed classes and the college literary societies, as well as the original campus chapel.

Today, Recitation Hall serves as the university's main administration building, including the offices of admission, president, provost, registrar, university communications, and human resources. The annex in the back of the building was added in the 1950s and is home to the university's Campus Police Division and the campus switchboard.
